Introduction to camera shots:

Working in groups of three we have started to look at camera shots!

Low angled shot:

This shot makes a character look larger or dominant. It would be  good to use to show someone is strong or powerful.

   An Extreme Close Up:
This is used to show an important detail, gesture or contact between characters. This would be great to show                                            the emotion of a character.

Over the shoulder shot:
This type of shot is very common when two characters are having a discussion and will generally follow an establishing shot, which helps the audience place the characters in their setting. The person facing the subject should occupy about 1/3 of the frame. This is effective as it shows an insight of  the main characters point of view.

Tilt Shot/Canted Angle:
This is to used to show movement, or an unsettled mood. This type of shot can be very powerful visually and emotionally to the audience.

Three different views of the same shot from angles of your choice:

This is good to show the surroundings and atmosphere.

An Establishing Shot:
This is designed to show the audience where the action is taking piece. It is usually the first shot used of a new scene.
