Lighting practice:

3-Point Fill lighting: This type of lighting creates a normal-looking scene with soft shadows and average colours. Using 3-light setup to provide normal lighting across an entire object, the exact opposite of chiaroscuro. This is used in most 'normal' scenes with any object. Chiaroscuro lighting: This lighting is characterised by harsh lighting that creates an extreme contrast between areas of the shot, such as a characters face. It can also be used with colour or be used in black and white. High key lighting: It uses harsh, bright lights to reduce contrast in a scene. This gives the scene a white-washed, clean look that does not have any shadow in frame. Backlighting: When the scene is directly from behind, usually by some form of natural light, where it used to create a silhouette. Following my last blog post, we have discovered several problems. When we tried to export our title, our background disappeared. After several tries to solve this, we failed. We are now left with this - black background with smoke. After asking people to compare the difference with the other background, a lot of people preferred this: We have also developed this and made our film title the same so it flows:

Location, location, location!

After planning our storyboard, we looked for suitable locations to film. We decided that for our task, we would use the English storage cupboard as it is easily made dark. This would look good as it will create a mysterious and tense feel to it. It also creates the victim to look even more scared and worried. We also thought by the bully to walk through the corridors, it would show the location and setting. As its about a bully making a girl do homework for her, it would be good to show the school to show the atmosphere. While thinking about the location, we also thought about the en-mise-scene. When the victim is sat waiting for the bully, we thought it would be realistic for the victim to have pencils and pens out with a notepad so it looked like she was doing the homework ready for the bully, unfortunately that wasn't the case...
